Charitable Events
A O.K. recently held its 10th Annual Holiday Gifts for Giving Event where AOK friends and family took over 100 children from lower
income areas shopping for their families. The event enabled the children to see and feel what is was like to "Give" rather than "Receive". For more details, pictures and articles, click here.
Presentations
A O.K., under the mentorship of Jim Tuman
(www.jimtuman.com), is refocusing the presentation of its core principles
towards helping high school students deal with social issues such as peer
pressure, bullying, violence, suicide, and teen pregnancy. AOK
presents through storytelling of real experiences vs. preaching to the kids
about the "right" thing to do. They talk in relative terms about having
confidence, being responsible, living with integrity,
focus, balance, the importance of relationships, and being yourself.
Sharing experiences about these values help expose the intangible tools
behind being independent and possessing high self esteem. And
this can significantly affect student attitudes and decision making,
positively affecting the aforementioned social issues.
